Great fundraising ideas initiated by PS 154 parents!

  1. Throwing a special birthday party for your spouse this summer?
    Instead of bringing gifts to the honoree, ask guests to make a special donation to the PTA of PS 154 Fund The Gap campaign.

  2. Are you a parent with a special talent?
    An established artist asked his Facebook followers to commission him to paint a portrait and he will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Fund The Gap campaign.

  3. Do you own your own business?
    Offer your services in a special way and donate a portion of the proceeds to the Fund The Gap campaign. See the offer from The Ever-Learning Caterpillar below.

DOE Budget Cuts

The Department of Education has cut school budgets citywide. PS 154 faces a reduction of approximately $230,000 in 2010-2011. Some of the items being cut from our school include:

  1. 3 teachers and 1 aide will be taken out of the school!
  2. Kindergarten and 3rd grade will be reduced by 1 class each!
  3. The music program with the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will be eliminated!

What can you do about it now?


MAKE A DONATION TO THE PTA
  1. Write a check to the "PTA of PS 154 Brooklyn Inc." to contribute to general purpose funds that can be allocated by parent-body vote beginning in September.
  2. Go to www.ps154pta.org and make your donation online. Click the Donate button on the home page to give to the FUND THE GAP campaign.

HELP OVER THE SUMMER
  1. Do you love music? Can you write a Request For Proposal? We need immediate help to get the word out to find more options for our music program.
  2. If you have time, are around the neighborhood, or are connected to email and the web, we can use your help to come up with great ideas and make plans for us to hit the ground running in September.
